The spreading branches of a young tree form a pyramidal outline, but at maturity, it sometimes achieves a picturesque flat topped head. When placed in a good site it should reach 5 ft. Also good for thick screens or windbreaks. This evergreen conifer tree thrives in urban locations as well as in windbreaks in more rural settings. This fast growing pine tree makes an attractive Christmas tree when sheared. It will tolerate both limestone or acidic soils, dry rocky locations and windy conditions. Goldenrain Tree-Chin. Flame The Chinese Flame tree, Koelreuteria bipinnata, is a deciduous tree that has a round canopy. It is a medium to rapid growing tree with medium green oval leaves. The beautiful yellow flowers, 2" long, in clusters 8-14" long, bloom June-August. The seed pods are long and orange, red or salmon-colored papery in color. It does best in full sun. The deep, non-invasive roots rarely disturb sidewalks. |
