Eastern White Pine

It grows best in full sun or partial shade and in ordinary soil. The White Pine tree is long-lived and vigorous. It carries long, soft bluish green needles with large brown cones. Space 6 ft. It can tolerate wet, swampy areas. apart for screening purposes. Eastern White Pine trees are widely used as a screen or windbreak. The Eastern White Pine, Pinus Strobus, is a beautiful landscape pine widely used throughout much of North America. Also widely used for Christmas trees and timber. It grows rapidly for a pine tree and is pyramidal shaped when young, becoming umbrella-shaped with age. This evergreen conifer tree is a truly magnificent tree attaining a height of 80 feet at maturity with a diameter of two to three feet. Green Mountain Sugar Maple (PP2339) The Green Mountain Sugar Maple, 'Acer saccharum "Green Mountain", is a very handsome deciduous tree with leathery leaves. This showy tree is upright and oval in shape. This tree is noted for its improved performance in dry restricted growing areas such as areas close to pavement. The Green Mountain carries all of the characteristics of the Sugar Maple with the strong limbs and the gorgeous fall color and the seeds are inconspicuous and causes no significant litter problems. It is also good street tree. The leathery leaves and durable foliage resists heat and drought. Sugar Maple is among the most shade tolerant of large deciduous trees. Like other maples, its shade tolerance is manifested in its ability to germinate and persist under a closed canopy as an understory plant.
