Hosta - Guacamole

This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions, tubs and patio pots, and is one of the most popular landscape plants. Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage and Guacamole is no exception. The Hosta Guacamole, Hosta 'Guacamole', is a medium sized hosta that has yellowish leaves with a wid green margin and stems producing white colored flowers. A great choice for any beginner gardener. The white flowers of this fast growing hosta bloom in late summer, however, hosta’s are not known for their flowers. Dianthus - Rubys Tuesday The Dianthus 'Rubys Tuesday', Dianthus Hybrid, has flowers that are a deep red carnation with a sweet fragrance. In order for a longer bloom time, deadhead the blooms continuously throughout the summer. Their very compact habit and free blooming nature make the 'Ruby Tuesday' Dianthus a stand out both in container gardens and perennial borders. They are especially stunning when paired with white or silver. Dianthus will bloom from mid summer to early fall. Dianthus needs a sunny site with well-drained soil, but will tolerate some shade in the afternoon and humidity. These fragrant, spicy dove like flowers look wonderful as a border plant, rock gardens, along walks or paths, for edging and a definite in cottage gardens.
